Beast Wars Waspinator, done as a convention print piece to promote the Dark Glass film project.

The goal of the project will be to create the 'lost' Beast Wars season 3 episode, which unfortunately was never produced during the original show's production run. This episode (based off the original unused script) was intended to tie in the original Dinobot's (brief) re-emergence in 'Nemesis Part 2', with the earlier scene in 'Bad Spark' where he was seen seemingly backing up his core concious to the Axalon main computer.
So far the episode has remained fan-produced, although there was feedback from the convention that a number of the original voice actors were very keen to reprise their roles and have just been waiting all this time for a group of fans like us to handle the filming.
if you're interested in helping out, drop us a line. likeswise any critique on this art piece will be well recieved.
I enjoyed making this scene; by far it took the most time out of the pieces I was requested to do for the convention, and I think it's a fun little image with all the things there are to look at; the posters on the wall (japanese beast wars metals airazor, done in Universe Airazor's paintscheme) the 'collection' of waspinator parts on the far wall, the general mess (applecores everywhere) even the grape N64 controller on the floor where he's dropped it. the maximal floor mat wasn't on the convention prints, but I've added it back in here; it didn't render with the rest of the image so I had to composite it afterwards, and it never really fitted all that well, which is probably why I removed it originally.

When we asked him, Scott McNeil answered with the answer that David Kaye and Garry Chalk also gave (along with Lee Tockar, though that one I didn't get to ask in person): They would love playing these characters again, even if it's not for a "real" project.

So, although the project will be made by fans, as we'd started it out that way, we are aware that getting the original voices involved would be easy.

Yes, that may mean that we might make a fully fan-made episode just for them. But we'll get "Dark Glass" done first.
